The Middle Aged Spread

On this 6.6 acre fare along the Mora River in Northern New Mexico, we are striving to create a sustainable landscape, incorporating permaculture techniques along with maintaining the centuries-old tradition of las acequias-hand dug ditches that carry irrigation water to the pastures where my herd of Nubian and Alpine dairy goat and free-range chickens roam. Topbar beehives provide pollination, honey for soaps and beeswax for salves, we grow or wildcraft most of the herbs used in our products. A wetland on the property is being preserved as a habitat for frogs and migratory birds - cranes, egrets, herons, eagles, and geese.
